# Will selling my company's data expose my customers or employees?

By David Choukroun, founder of Aidvance. Updated 2026-10-25.

**Short answer:** It shouldn't. Names, emails, phone numbers, addresses and anything else that identifies a person are removed before a buyer sees anything. Data that can't be cleaned safely, like patient records, stays out entirely. You approve what's included before anything is delivered.

## What gets removed
- Names, emails, phone numbers and addresses.
- Account numbers and anything else that identifies a customer or employee.
- Details covered by client contracts or privacy laws.

## What you control
- Which data is included at all.
- Whether your company's name is attached.
- Final approval before anything is delivered.

## Questions
**What about my pricing and competitive information?**
You can leave out anything you don't want shared. Tell us what's off-limits at the start.

**Who sees my data before a deal?**
Buyers see a description and samples, with personal details already removed. Nothing is shared without your OK.
